The Alpha Omega Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) recently held their induction ceremony on May 2, welcoming 46 members from the 2024-2025 class.
Megan Smedley, ACTC strategic communications administrator, was featured as the keynote speaker for the ceremony.
"When you live with authenticity, you don’t just build a resume, you build a life that speaks hope and courage into the world around you,” said Smedley. “As you move forward from today, I encourage you to embrace your story, even the messy parts. Because often, those are the chapters that end up mattering the most. Your voice matters, and your story matters.”
During a special moment in the ceremony, Janet Thompson, ACTC advisor for the PTK Alpha Omega Gamma chapter, presented a heartfelt video slideshow in memory of advisor Dan Bailey, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year. A devoted educator and mentor, Bailey served ACTC students for over 50 years and was both an advisor and charter member of PTK.
