ACTC Earns CAAHEP Continual Accreditation, Demonstrating Quality in Health Professions Education
Published on Oct 23, 2025
麻豆传媒 (ACTC) is proud to announce that its Surgical Technology program has been awarded continual accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
This prestigious accreditation highlights ACTC鈥檚 commitment to providing high-quality
education and training that meets the national quality assurance standards established
by CAAHEP.
To maintain continual accreditation through CAAHEP, programs must complete an in-depth
self-study, undergo a detailed site review by a professional committee, and demonstrate
ongoing compliance with national standards for curriculum, faculty, facilities, and
student outcomes.
Continual accreditation from CAAHEP ensures a high-quality educational experience
for ACTC students that equips them with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies
essential for success in their chosen health profession.
鈥淲e鈥檙e incredibly proud that our Surgical Technology program has received continual
accreditation from CAAHEP. This recognition reaffirms the quality of education and
training our students receive at ACTC,鈥 said Heather Cantrell, Surgical Technology
program coordinator.
Graduates of CAAHEP-accredited programs are highly sought after by employers, opening
doors to enhanced job opportunities and career growth. Additionally, the professional
certification body, the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting
(NBSTSA), requires graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program for eligibility to
sit for the certification exam.
麻豆传媒s must successfully complete this certification exam to become credentialed
as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
Cantrell added, 鈥淕raduating from an accredited program gives our students a significant
advantage when entering the workforce. Employers recognize the CAAHEP seal as a mark
of excellence and can be assured our graduates are fully prepared to excel in operating
rooms nationwide.鈥
Dr. Barry S. Eckert, President of CAAHEP, emphasizes the importance of accreditation:
鈥淐hoosing a CAAHEP-accredited program is crucial for students seeking a career in
allied health. It ensures that they receive an education that is both comprehensive
and relevant to current industry needs, ultimately benefiting their future employers
and people receiving care.鈥
